Terms of service

By using this site you are agreeing to follow and abide by our terms and conditions. Throughout these terms, we will refer to ourselves as ‘Kin Bakehouse’, ’Letterbox bakes’, ‘us’, ‘we’ or ‘our’. We may revise the Terms and conditions and Privacy Policy at any time without notice to you.

1. Prices & descriptions
All prices are as stated on the website, but we reserve the right at any time to revise the price of goods without notice. We have taken care in preparing the content of this website to ensure all goods have been accurately described, including ingredients and allergens. The actual products may vary slightly from those described. Weights, sizes and dimensions are approximate and may vary.

2. Availability
All orders are subject to acceptance and availability. If the Goods you have ordered are not available to order, we will contact you by e-mail or phone. You will have the option either to wait until the item is available or to cancel your order, in which case we will issue a refund.

3. Minimum and maximum orders
Our minimum order is one box of brownies, blondies or ‘best of both’. Our maximum order is 5 boxes of brownies per order but larger volumes may be arranged if you contact us using the contact details on our website.

4. Payment terms
We accept payment by credit or debit card on-line only. We use a trusted, reliable and secure payment gateway (provided by Stripe).

5. Delivery charges
We offer one method of delivery via Royal Mail First Class which estimates delivery between 1 and 2 days after dispatch. Each box is sent out separately and incurs a postage charge of £4. We cannot group the boxes together for delivery. Boxes are also available to collect in store if you select ‘collection’ at the checkout.

6. Dispatch & Delivery
Letterbox bakes will be dispatched once a week. Orders received by 4pm on a Sunday will be ready for collection on the following Wednesday between 9am and 4pm. Similarly orders received by 4pm on a Sunday will be dispatched the following Wednesday. Any orders received after 4pm on a Sunday, on a Monday or a Tuesday will not be ready for collection or dispatched until the Wednesday of the following week.

If dispatch is delayed due to any cause beyond our reasonable control, the dispatch date will be extended by a reasonable period and we will contact you to notify you of the delay.

We will deliver the goods to the address you specify for delivery in your order. It is important that this address is accurate. If a delivery address is entered incorrectly you must contact us via email at least a day before scheduled dispatch. We cannot accept any liability for any loss or damage to the goods once they have been delivered in accordance with your delivery instructions (unless this is caused by our negligence). Please note that our boxes are designed to be posted through standard letterboxes. We cannot take responsibility for any boxes that cannot be delivered due to inaccessibility at the recipient's address, so please make sure they can be received before ordering. Should the box be taken to the delivery office due to inaccessibility to a letterbox then it is the recipients responsibility to collect within the time scale set out by Royal Mail.

Delivery times for First Class Delivery are usually 1-2 working days after dispatch. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee delivery dates with you as they are subject to Royal Mail delays. Orders at peak periods for postage (e.g. Valentines Day, Christmas, Easter & Mother’s Day) may carry a greater risk of delay. We always dispatch on a Wednesday to increase the chance of delivery before the weekend.

You will become the owner of the goods you have ordered when they have been delivered to you or your chosen recipient and once payment has cleared. Once goods have been delivered to you they will be held at your own risk and we will not be liable for their loss or destruction.

7. Contract
Full payment is required when you order. Your payment represents an offer to purchase. Our acceptance of your order completes the contract between us. Risk of damage to or loss of the goods passes to you at the time of delivery to you. You will only own the goods once they have been successfully delivered and when we have received cleared payment in full. Goods supplied are not for resale.

8. Cancellation rights
Under the Distance Selling Regulations you do not have the legal right to cancel orders of made-to-order items, which includes all our bakes. However, if we have not yet ordered ingredients for them or started production, you may cancel your order at our discretion by contacting us via email.

9. Cancellation by us
We reserve the right to cancel the contract between you and us if: a. We have insufficient stock to deliver the goods you have ordered, b. We do not deliver to your area or c. Our business is closed for a holiday or due to Covid restrictions.

If we do cancel your contract we will notify you by e-mail and will refund any payment you have made to us within 30 days of your order.

10. Liability
If you do not receive goods ordered by you within 7 days of the date of dispatch, we will have no liability to you unless you notify us in writing at our postal address or email address of the problem within 14 days of the date on which you ordered the goods.

If you notify a problem to us under this condition, our only obligation will be, at your option: to make good any shortage or non-delivery; or to refund to you the amount paid by you for the goods in question in whatever way we choose.

Both parties shall only be liable under this contract for losses, which are a reasonably foreseeable consequence of the relevant breach of contract.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to limit any rights you might have as a consumer under applicable local law or other statutory rights that may not be excluded nor in any way to exclude or limit our liability to you for any death or personal injury resulting from our negligence.

11. Notices
Unless otherwise expressly stated in these terms and conditions, all notices from you to us must be in writing and sent us by email to thekitchen@kinbakehouse.co.uk .
All notices from us to you will be displayed on our website from time to time.

12. Changes to legal notices
